Every image begins with trust.

To stand in front of a camera—naked, masked, veiled, exposed—is an act of courage. It’s not just about appearance; it’s about being seen in a way that most of us spend our lives avoiding. I never take that lightly.

Many of the people I photograph are not professional models. They are dancers, performers, friends, or strangers who have agreed to step into a moment of vulnerability with me. Often, they come not knowing exactly what we’ll create—just that something honest might emerge. That kind of trust is sacred.

To honour that trust, I do everything I can to create a space that is safe, respectful, and free of judgment. I approach each collaboration with care, attentiveness, and openness. There is no pressure to perform or to reveal more than someone wishes to share. People are always free to pause, to shift direction, or to say no. My role is not to direct someone into vulnerability, but to make space for it—if and when it wants to surface.

In many cases, that space is my own home. Shoots often take place in the house I share with my family, and inviting someone into that setting is part of how I try to keep the process personal and grounded. But that closeness also calls for mutual respect—for the energy in the room, for the boundaries of the space, and for the quiet presence of the life that surrounds it.

Consent is ongoing. Communication is open. No image is ever shown, shared, or published without clear agreement.

If you’re considering working with me and want to hear from others who have, I’m always happy to connect you. In the meantime, here are a few words from past collaborators:

Collaborator Experiences

"I had such a brilliant first shoot with Laurent, at the beginning of my Belgium tour, in his beautiful house in Flanders. Laurent is such a lovely individual—genuine, kind, funny, and very respectful, not to mention extremely artistic. I felt completely at ease the entire time."
Tink

"Working with Laurent was a breath of fresh air. We had super fun conversations, the shoot flowed very naturally, and I felt comfortable from the start. He has a very calm, respectful presence."
Regina Piil

"Laurent is a kind and thoughtful person. He created a safe and relaxed atmosphere during our shoot, and I could sense his passion for what he does. The images came out beautifully, shot entirely in natural light."
Aisha

"Laurent has a soft soul, and that really shows in his photography. He’s easy to talk to, a respectful communicator, and a true artist at heart. I’d definitely work with him again."
Katy

"I’ve worked with Laurent more than once, and each time felt like a collaboration built on mutual trust and freedom. His direction is subtle and intuitive. He allows space for you to be yourself without pressure."
Luna

"Shooting with Laurent was incredibly inspiring. He has a beautiful way of observing, never pushing, always letting the moment unfold. It felt more like a shared experience than a photoshoot."

If you’d like to connect directly with someone I’ve worked with, I’ll gladly provide references. This work is built on mutual trust, respect, and care—the image is important, but how we arrive at it matters just as much.
